Circus – Best Selling of 2008

New Britney Spears' album, called “Circus” was released in 28th November 2008 by Britney Spears. It is the sixth studio album of this American pop singer. With over 505,000 copies has sold in the United States for the first released week, it showed at number one on the BillBoard 200. Also, it became the fifth number-one album of Britney. The success of the album got Britney the only act in Nielsen SoundSan history to have four albums show with 500,000 or more copies sold.

The single “Womanizer” is the first single of “Circus”, it released on 15th September, and it is the title of Britney’s sixth studio album. The single was showed to radio stations on 26th September, and it is released on 2th December for the album when Britney reached new age at 27th. “Womanizer” jumped to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on 15th October, knock off the record “Live Your Life” of T.I. The song got downloaded at 286,000 for first week. Since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking in 2003, it is biggest opening-week tally by female singer.

The single “Circus” is the second single of the album “Circus”, it was released on 31th October 2008, which was announced on Britney’s website. It showed at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, it is highest debuting single on the Billboard Hot 100 to date.

The single “If U Seek Amy” is the third single of the album “Circus”, it was released on 7th January 2009, it was announced on Britney’s website for the release. It showed at number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Britney Spears's live comeback with a cameo appearance at the Dodger Stadium show of Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour began on 6th November, 2008. Midway through "Human Nature", Spears joined Madonna on stage.

A pre-taped holiday greeting from Spears was shown during the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree on December 3, 2008.
