Circus – Best Selling of 2008

New Britney Spears' album, called “Circus” was released in 28th November 2008 by Britney Spears. It is the sixth studio album of this American pop singer. With over 505,000 copies has sold in the United States for the first released week, it showed at number one on the BillBoard 200. Also, it became the fifth number-one album of Britney. The success of the album got Britney the only act in Nielsen SoundSan history to have four albums show with 500,000 or more copies sold.

The single “Womanizer” is the first single of “Circus”, it released on 15th September, and it is the title of Britney’s sixth studio album. The single was showed to radio stations on 26th September, and it is released on 2th December for the album when Britney reached new age at 27th. “Womanizer” jumped to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on 15th October, knock off the record “Live Your Life” of T.I. The song got downloaded at 286,000 for first week. Since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking in 2003, it is biggest opening-week tally by female singer.

The single “Circus” is the second single of the album “Circus”, it was released on 31th October 2008, which was announced on Britney’s website. It showed at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Also, it is highest debuting single on the Billboard Hot 100 to date.

The single “If U Seek Amy” is the third single of the album “Circus”, it was released on 7th January 2009, it was announced on Britney’s website for the release. It showed at number 86 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Britney Spears's live comeback with a cameo appearance at the Dodger Stadium show of Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour began on 6th November, 2008. Midway through "Human Nature", Spears joined Madonna on stage.

A pre-taped holiday greeting from Spears was shown during the lighting of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree on December 3, 2008.

I Am… Sasha Fierce – Another successful album of Beyoncé

I Am... Sasha Fierce” is the third solo album of Beyoncé, it was released on 18th November, 2008. The single “If I Were a Boy” reached number one in eight charts in the UK, and reached number 3 in the US. Another single, “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” showed to the top of the charts in the BillBoard Hot 100. The single “Rolling Stone” also got number one “Single of the Year” for 2008. In the last time of December 2008, Beyoncé released two videos from the album which were a worldwide premiere on iTunes, “Diva” and “Halo”. They are expected to be released to purchase in January 2009. Showing that, supporting for “I Am…Sasha Fierce”, Beyoncé will kick off a worldwide tour in April 2009. Beyoncé has got nine Grammy Awards, on those, six for her solo work. And she got three as a member of Destiny’s Child. She also got a BRIT Award for International Femail Solo Artist in 2004.

Beyonce is also a successful in film career and co-starred with Austin Powers in Goldmember, one of the highest-grossing films of 2002. Moreover, she started a comedy film “The Pink Panther” in 2006, it was in the same year scored the main role in the film “Dreamgirls”, an adaptation of the 1981 Broadway musical, it brought Beyoncé a Golden Globe nomination. Over the album, “I am in a different place right now and I wanted people to see the many sides of me. The music is upbeat for the dance, fun side and it is reflective, passionate and serious for the personal side. I have taken risks here. I am not afraid and my music will explain it all. There is no label or tag on my sound. It's me and I am so excited to share it with the world on November 18”, she said.
